Ever played Shining Force developed by the creators of Golden Sun, Camelot Software Planning, back in the day on the Mega Drive / Genesis, Sega CD and Sega Saturn?
Well, the "Shining" series of games especially the "Shining Force" series immersed me very heavily into its fantasy setting of Villages & Castles, Kings & Queens, Warriors, Knights, Archers, Paladins, Mages & Wizards and Legendary Swords of Chaos Breaker & Force Sword.
One of the 1st few pioneer batches of the Turn-Based Strategy Genre that uses the grid-based gameplay with very simple basic commands like Attack, Item, Magic and Stay. Although it was easy to play, it sure was addictive as well.
Anyway, this is a tribute to the Shining Force of old. Hopefully Sega will wake up from its Action RPG dream from the likes of "Shining Force Neo" & "EXA" and continue to produce "Shining Force" the way it was meant to be. "Shining Force Feather" for the DS is one good example of the olden gameplay.
Shining force 2 is the best game ever (ok, after ff7) Never played sf3 , unfortunately.. I loved all SF games I played... so great... I still love the sf fantasy setting... it's one of my first rpg games I've ever played... and it'll always stay in my heart... And curse neo and exa...

Shining Force 2 was awesome! I still preferred 1 though, don't know why but I'm still addicted to it till now. I didn't touch SF3 too because I don't have a Saturn :~(... I would love to try it! Heard it was the best SF in the series. Neo and EXA... *sighs* Wake up Sega! D:
thing with sf3 is that only 1st part of the game was translated in English... 2nd and 3rd stayed in Japanese only... and no point in playing only one of the three parts...
I still dream of sega waking up and making some outstanding SF SRPG for newer consoles...

Its a shame really that SF3 have to be cancelled abruptly 1/3 of the way. Way to go Sega for ruining themselves.
Seems like a distant dream, its like waiting for Square Enix to do a FFVII remake!
